Here's a little bit more about our CEO!
Q: Why is it important to be involved in these different Ag organizations?
A: I've always believed in the importance of being an advocate for the beef industry because it promotes longevity and success for what we as ranchers do on a daily basis. These organizations provide valuable information and bridge the gap between producers and consumers so that we can have honest conversations about the agriculture industry. It's also important that we keep an open discussion with other ranchers so that we continue to become more efficient and sustainable in the way we produce beef.
Q: Why is the beef council and the beef chekcoff important?
A: Both are important. As a council member it is very interesting to see a project from start to finish, have an impact on the success of those projects and see the outstanding job the project, and the people invoved, do for promoting Beef! The Beef Checkoff has helped put money in producers pockets by working with food influencers and developing new research to support beef's role in a healthy diet.
Q: What's your Favorite kind of steak?
A: Today it's Flank or Skirt steak. Peggy cooked Flank steak for our weekly staff meeting. I like variety and love grilled steaks so I move around some depending on appetite and the flavor I'm looking for.
